Jump pad settings 2004(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm trying to implement a jump pad that throws you quite a distance. So far I have yet to hit on the right combination of settings to get it to do this. I have increased the z modifier, and played with the velocity settings.
The 3dbuzz video about jump pads doesn't utilize the jump destination, it uses a regular pathnode. Is that the correct way to go about this?
Is there a max distance that the jump pad can throw you, or do I just not have the right settings?

I don't know if this is what you want, but in the jump pad properties you can force it to fire you to a path node.

Right, I am using the forced pathnode right now, but it isn't actually getting the player all the way there.

Jump Pads
Just playaround with the Jumpz modifier a bit. You can view paths also to see what the jump arc would be ingame.

Thanks for the link. I got it straightened out. Turned out that I just wasn't being aggressive enough with the Z modifier.
I suppose the lesson is that if you are really launching the player, the default Z will NOT be adequate.
