Printer Problems(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've had my Epson Stylus 440 since July 1999 and have had no problems with it until last week.
It ran out of paper while printing, and after I put some more paper in the feed tray and pressed the paper advance button, it didn't do anything.
I reset the power switch, and this time when I turned it on, all four lights flashed. Power, ink (coloured & b/w), and paper. I can't press any buttons but the power button to turn it off and on.
I've also tried un-installing it, and re-installing it, but my comp (running XP) doesn't recognise it when I plug it into the port at the back.
System Control Panel says there is nothing actually wrong with the port. But I don't have another printer to check that out.
Any ideas?

look on the epson website about error codes for your printer .. i know they usally have them in the troubleshooting section of the manual. Lshrug: beside that i'm not sure what to say .. might want to try it on a diferent computer

I'd already checked there, but the link to the manual wasn't working

nm, I took it into the shop today to get it looked at. When all the lights are flashing it says its an "unknown error" It was cheaper for me to buy a new printer than get the old one looked at.
Yay, I guess...at least I can do my homework now
