CTF Airbase to start imminantly

Players: The more the merrier

Concept:
Now I haven't mapped for a while, and I never really got the hand of the more advanced techniques when I did, so what better way to begin my return to mapping then in simple CTF mode, focusing around brushes
But I have a flare for ownage maps, I refuse to make things that are too similar to what has come before, so how does one make a truly outstanding CTF map
Now I’m using mostly brushes, I believe they are perfectly adequate unless your trying to make natural looking cliffs or ground, but I like it techie so screw them, and there is 1 map in UT2K4 that is still made entirely out of brushes, and has stood the test of time, still to be considered by some, the best map ever made, Facing Worlds
So the question falls to this: What makes Facing Worlds so great? Well its small, but other CTF maps had that and are long gone by now, what I believe makes Facing Worlds so great is that the space between the bases is an absolute deathtrap

Description:
The map is based on a giant 2 part floating fortress situated high above the ground, however the lower levels where the 2 parts link up are off limits

Your Base:
The first key location is the control room, here is where your flag is as well as control points for various Link Turrets owned by your team, weapons suited for interior combat such as Flak Cannons and Bio Rifles can be found here
Above the control room is the Raptor hanger, why am I putting Raptors in CTF you ask? Well why not, I can use Avrils as well so everything is fine
In front of the Flag Room is a hallway, it will be lined by health vials and on a single pad in the middle will be an armour power up, envision space fighters being launched from the hallway and you have the right shape
Off the hallway just before its end will be a single room where weapons suited for combat in open spaces such as shock rifles and rocket launchers can be found

Centre Area:
This is the slaughterhouse, Suspended in mid air between the bases are floating platforms, to get from one base to the other the players must jump across them, this leaves very little room to strafe around
On the front of each base is a sniping platform, with Sniper Rifles, Lightning Guns and Avrils, standing on the platform, multiple defenders may pick off attackers at will, the bases will be close, so snipers will be able to hit each other, success at this point comes for whoever can provide the best cover fire for their attackers while staying alive themselves, use of Raptors is limited, and the Avrils will make it hard for them, but a skilled Raptor pilot may also be able to pick off a few attackers, and maybe even the odd sniper
There is another rout however, and its your badly constructed safety net if you fall off the platforms, a little ways below them are a series of walkways between the bases, at either end are auto turrets and the Link Turrets which are controlled from the control room, A player might make it back to their own base, and possibly even to the enemy base if their health is good and no one is on the Link Turrets, defenders must be quick to mount them if they think someone survived a drop

Enemies Base:
If you came in through the bottom door you will find an elevator up to the enemies weapon room, in either case your in that hallway, your goal is the control room at the other end, better hope you weren’t noticed, because if you were there will be a defender on the Shock Turret at the control room door, and while you might be able to fit a Raptor into that hallway you wont be able to dodge at all, once in the control room you will find the flag in the middle

EDIT:

Ok question, where did all the textures go?

Well your idea sounds great dude. Now lets see it for real. I like the concept.

So do I but the lack of selectable textures is dire

Im searching online for more, but they will make the map big to download if you connect to a server with it on and you dont have it

That's gonna be the trouble if and when I have something to share. I've got barely a shell of a map with three rooms and it's already 450K with just stock textures...

Can you find the textures you need from multiple stock packages, maybe?

I'm a total newb at this, so don't mind me.

Like Bushwacker said, the concept sounds good. Maybe a prototype screenie or two...?
