... is possible, but it slowed me down from 6 minutes per frame to 10 minutes per frame.
surfing Tcom, on the other hand, seems to have no effect on folding.

Yeah I always pause F@H while playing.

I just didn't think it would be so CPU intensive. Why buy a 256 MB video card, ffs?

I allways shut down fah before gaming in case the game freezes and I have to do a hard boot. Have lost WUs that way before.
Lesson learned.

I can't miss that one hour of folding.

I lost 24hr of a tinker at 385 when I had to restart the PC. The WU started all over again.

doesn't it save your work after each frame?

Yes, but sometimes during an abnormal shutdown things can get fucked up. Most of the time it will continue where it left off but sometimes it either starts all over again or downloads a new WU. I have learned by experience that tinkers are more 'injuryprone' than gromacs.

A word to the wise. Shut down Folding before gaming. I have to reboot normally after playing any "heavy hitters" so Folding will restart.
Maybe these Win 2000 boxes will be more stable, we will see.

For me, folding will use whatever it can grab, so yes, it slows down when you're playing, but as soon as you're out of the game folding's back on 100%
