T.com and Amazon?(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

There used to be alink somewhere to support T.com via Amazon.com. Perhaps this forum needs a sticky at the top encouraging book buyers to use the link and purchase through the site.
Personally, I have to use Amazon.ca. If there is a way to add that, it would be great. I"m sure the same would be said for Amazon.uk (assuming that is right...)

Following that means its for T.com?
I see nothing there to indicate that. If it is, it should have a fresh thread with sticky

The "pixelpusher" bit is Oriion's account, yes. Now, I can find no source for data on whether or not Amazon.ca does the affiliate system, but I just changed the .com to .ca and had no problems. we might want to get Catz in here to confirm, though, since he's in charge of the donations and money stuff.

If you could snag Amazon.co.uk, that would be excellent. I buy practically all my books from there... Holy frijoles! I've spent over £300 there in the past two years.
Never seemed like that much at the time.
I'm sure this trend will continue. I'll just need an affiliate link in order to make future purchases financially acceptable.

Sorry for being tardy.
OK, the lowdown on affiliate programs. Not to burst anyone's bubble, but revenue from affialiates, well, basically, amounts to jack squat. To be honest, I don't think we have seen anything from them. For them to work, there is a minimum amount that has to be bought in a certain amount of time, and from those purchases, we usually see pennies from each. In order to reach the minimum amount (for example 30 dollars for a check to be cut to us) we simply don't have the traffic buying that much stuff in the time period.
Affiliate prgrams, in theory, would work well, but in the time since I have been doing the bills, nothing has ever come in because of them.
Now, I will check with Nathan (since he signed up for them) for the exact specifics on how each work (they all differ), and see what we have to do to actually see something from them. In the meantime, I will try and explore the process of adding a .ca and other European links.

Why do we have the links if we don't have the volume?

Well, maybe hoping that something like this will give us the volume? I'm still checking things out, so don't give up hope.

Oh. It's just you were kinda pessimistic in that last post.

Well, I am kind of pessimistic.
We'll see what I can turn up.

I work for Amazon.com/ca/co.uk/jp/abcdefghijklmop so I can find out for certain or not.

Here's what I know about the associates program at Amazon.com.
If someone follows a link from here to Amazon.com, ANYTHING purchased in that shopping session counts towards the program -- meaning t.com gets a cut.
So, if someone follows a link from here to Amazon.com and buys a $9,000 television, t.com will get a substantial cut o'money. My friend (a former employee) had someone buy a $500.00 mixer from one of his links and he got a $50.00 deposit that month. Nickel and dime, it might not be profitable one book at a time but, if someone is looking to buy a big ticket item, I would recommend coming in from a link here to Amazon.com.
Just my two cents. I can get more definitive information on Wednesday when I go back to work. Catz, PM me and I'll see what I can dig up. I'll just need to be reminded.

What about .co.uk? I buy from them in chunks o' £25. And those Lonely Planet books are looking real tasty from here.

I can find that out as well. I'm at work now but, since it's my Monday, I'm a bit backed up so it might be later this week.

That's all right. There's no great rush on 'round here.
