I have a P2 - 266 Mhz in my room. It has 176mb Ram...Is it worth adding? Is it worth buying a 600mhz for $20 or somthing?

There are WU's one can do with a P 2 that have no expiration date so to answer your query, yes.
As for the other matter. I would look into a P 3 600 for that $20 or so and not go with yet another P 2.

Go with a P3 if you can as Searcher said, that way you will at least get SSE support.
Folding a gromac on a P2 is  and will in 90% of the cases never make the deadline.
