Ok seems i have a problem with one of my partuitions. I turned my pc on today to find otuthat one of the partitions had been wiped or had been made "RAW", basically any time i try to access it, all it does is ask me if i want to format the drive. I've tried running nortons disk doctor but it wont access the drive. And chkdsk wont either. So is this partition and all it's data lost or is there something i can do to try and restore the data. I'm running win2k, and the drive was working fine last night.
TIA. ;/

Well theres a few things you can do here.
1. Get yourself a copy of NTFS PRO and a Win98se boot diskette.
You boot off the 98 diskette and then once your at an A: prompt stick the NTFS PRO diskette in and type NTFSPRO. This will allow you to treat the NTFS drive as a fat drive. Which means you can now do a Dir command on the c drive or whatever drive you want. This will allow you to see if there is any data on it. If you do have data on it then you simply Ghost it to another drive.
2. Format the partition
If your only running one HDD then I will bet you lost everything on the partition. Was this partition bootable? I would also run a virus scan to rule out the possiblity that you have a destrucive virus that just wipe your data.
