For those of you who earn truckloads of gold per day:
Let's say you make 350k gold per turn, it accumulates pretty quick. So how often do you check your account to bring down the level (by banking or spending)?
If it gets too high, you know you'll be pillaged. But if it's not high enough, then you're really not making best use of your bank deposits.

well I am very much influenced by when I go t oschool and wake up.
Out of the 24 hour day, only about 8 of them am I hope to check regularily, and i will do it at the start, end and once or twice in the middle.
Quick frankly, although i do GET 5 banks a day, I rarely use them. Normally I just buy a tower when I get to 2.1M.....
Its only when I am doing a 10M attack run that I will bank several times throughout so as not to lose them

European raiders usually come online around 10 am London time, so that's 2 am Pacific time. Make sure you've cleared out your gold before you go to sleep.

You should do that anyway. 
I raid at slightly earlier times. Just made 12 mil in 4 attacks.

Still pursuing this line of thought...
When I was pillaged this morning, I had 6.7 mil. The attacker was level 41, had 5+ mil in Offense.
I was able to withstand all the other attacks while I slept. Should I even bother boosting my Defense to 5 mil?

I generally wait for it to get around 7-8 million before I dump it in the bank. That amount will probably go up as I up my miner population and my defense. I really don't feel like attacking so I'll make sure to keep my offense up with the money I earn from camping... it's still slow going though.

My current defense is just short of 60mil, and I still lose attacks.

I'm at 41-42mill defense myself :/

No I know. No matter how much you upgrade there will always be someone better. But it makes me a little bit more comfertable with my 3.2 mil per turn income knowning I'm safe until at least 20 mil.

the higher your defense, the more money you can safely accumulate before somebody with a higher attack thinks of pillaging you. Doesn't always work though because of the inevitable grudge fighters who come and farm you repeatedly after you hit them once.

I have to clear my gold when it reaches 10 mil. Not enough defense to support more.
