Our library has a small room that's a Friends of the Library Bookstore. I can buy books there dirt cheap. Paperbacks for 50 cents, hardbacks for a dollar. Every week I check to see what they have because I want to build up a cool 'library' for Tabitha for when she gets older. Usually pickings are pretty slim if you're looking for quality, but today I hit paydirt. I got Middlesex (one of our previous nominations for our book club), two Beverly Clearys, and a few classics: Johnny Tremain, Robinson Crusoe, and The Adventures of Pinocchio. All of which cost me $3.50.

I can send some books to you, but I don't really have anything for kids.

Bet Tabitha will love it.

Hard to say...so far she likes all books regardless. Her favorites are books with pictures of kitties and teddy bears and doggies. The other day I was trying to read a magazine while she was climbing all over me saying, "Bhup! bhup! bhuch!" So I tore out the inserts and told her that was a book. That kept her happy for a good 30 minutes. So easy to please at this age.
