I need to beef up the ram on an old pc I have.

Does anyone have 256MB PC100 SDRAM modules they no longer need? Ideally I'd like 4 in total but any are welcome, I'm only using 192mb at the moment

Thanks

I have two old SDRam chips which are not in machines:

1) NEC 256mb, PC133 32x4 Syncmax (chips marked 0031Z5400). Probably won't work with any other type of chip.

2) Micron 512mb, PC133 32x8 ECC Registered (chips marked 48LC32M8A2, serial on module #5867303535).

Both are longshots, since they'll only work with similar modules, but you never know.

The MB has a limit of 256mb chips, and I need a few that are compatible to make any real improvements. Thanks anyway Rit

No CPU or heatsink fan though

What CPU\speed did you have running in it Flak?

I ran a P3-1ghz in it. 133MHz/100MHz FSB.

Any good to you?

edit/ This is the board in question Asus CUV4X

By the way. If it's any use to you, you can have it m8

No use to me anymore and it's sat here in a box. Board works fine, manual and driver disk included. Won't need to load anything though cos' it's already been done
Just needs a CPU and fan.

Let me know

Thanks for the offer Flak

Just today the work announced an addition to the bonus scheme where we can purchase a PC for a max of £1400 but it's offset against your salary so you don't pay tax or NI. I don't quite understand it myself but it seems like a sweet deal saving £100s and it's payed over a few months.

If that doesn't work out and I still need to squeeze my assets I'll give you a shout

Thanks man, I appreciate it
