sure. i'll have to pm you then when i get there. on the 18th that is.
i only know Forsak. he's a really good friend of mine. well, all i can say is: i can't wait to get there. oh and one more question: about how much cash should i bring for casual spending, for a 5 day stay?

heh, don't ask me there, that's for you to decide... i've never actually been on such a vacation or anywhere outside around these parts, so i dunno how it goes with money spending i'm more of a saver, who spends just sometimes when he has more money, and spends it all at once -- like now for instance, this laptop.. took all my money away, down to the last cent
ok so we'll decide where to meet then when you're going here
i look forward, real t-com member hehe, and actually for the first time someone i know from abroad visiting here in real...

i can hardly wait.
well so i can get an idea of cash, how much is a .5 coke?

heh, i'd love to help, but i must admit, i have no insight in the measuring system you use, so I can tell you this..
when buying the 2 liter bottle, it costs usually somewehere about 33 crowns, that's about $1.25 these days i think..
that would be in a regular store that is..
in a better bar, you get a 0.3 liter coke for about 21-24 crowns, so that's a little under a dollar
(i consider the rate to be about 26 crowns for one dollar)..
in a regular pub, you get a regular 0.5 L beer for about a dollar i think, in a better one it gets to 50 as well..
huh, guess that's not much of an insight, is it.. oh well, i don't go to bars and pubs in prague much, i just go there in the morning to school, and when school ends, i'm glad to finally get on the bus and ride home..
oh well, we shall settle this in the next few weeks, don't worry
btw. what is the occasion of you coming over to prague?
Posted by: Psyko149
it's a trip with the school. well organised by a school. not mine. i was invited by some friends. and the ocasion to see a foreign country is alwais welcome to me.
okay. so given the fact that an euro is just a bit over a dollar, i should be able to figure out how much to get. thanks.
well the price of the trrp includes breakfast. lunch, i'm already used to a brief lunch. and for dinner they said 40 euros should be enough.
or maybe it's just the last dinner...the parting party.
and besides that, i think about 100 euros should be enough foe 5 days.

well if you don't eat in the town center's usual restaurants, you can get more a very good dinner for 10 euros for sure..
if you got questions about anything in particular just ask me, i can take a look in it, after all, i go to prague every day to the college...

Lol nice setup BRD, same type of desks my roommates and I use . We have 3 of those party tables + a cart (which my roomie uses to drag around his Desktop).

and something else i wanted to ask:
how much is a museum entrance?
not a specific one. just to give me an idea.
oh, and the subway ticket. walking is good for sightseeng, but there is a moment when i simply can't walk anymore, and just have to toke the subway to the next place.

i'll ask about the usual museum entrance fees..
about the subway, yeah, i'm such a lazy person that i always take the subway or tram when it is around..
so it goes like this -- you can get many types of tickets, but the most used are two.. either for 8 crowns a ticket for 15 minutes without change of line, or for 12 crowns a ticket for one hour, you can change lines in metro, you can even change to tram or bus, doesn't matter, you simply got one hour to use any means of city's public transport...
so it's not that bad really..

hehe, well this one desk was made by my dad actually, very simple thing, a basic steel construction, and one chipboard desk, cut in a good shape still, it is pretty decent one..
oh yeah, and i have no cart. next to me is another kind of a desk, smaller, on which i have a big box in which i got about 200 CD-R disks three years back.. i keep it and use it as a trash bin for papers and stuff...

12 crowns. well that's about half euro, considering that you said 26 crowns are about a dollar.
man public transport in cheap! the 12 is a real advantage for people like me: fast travels to places. so i estimate i'll spend about...OMG: only 3 to 6 euros for transport in the city! that's damn good...

yes, i am romaian.
i posted that about a month ago on forsakn's thread.
we have some really cool metal here in romania.
though the country is a bit...well...strange. i traveled a lot so i find my country behind others with some things. but don't get me wrong. i kind of like it here. and given the fact that my city looks really high-tech (we have loads of new buildings) we also have out bad points here.
anywais the city combines the new buildings with old architecture buildings...
well, here are some pics:
this is one of our exagerated number of libraries...
Posted by: Psyko149
and this is where i study:

and this is teh art museum:

well, you get the point about the classic architecture.

i think you will find prague very similiar to this city you're showing us... we to were a part of the soviet block
many countries like ours look very similiar to this, so I believe you'll feel like you didn't much leave romania at all...
anyway, we got a lotof these buildings you just showed us too, however, i'm not the kind of guy that would be much interested in this stuff... i'd rather live in some fancy high tech place, where there is no sign of history at all i'm a bit too progressive i guess

Question is, does he really want to feel like he never left Romania, or would he rather see something different
Like, good old Germany
