I know I will be upgrading most everything there given time (the cd-rw and dvd-rom being third). As of right now I have a budget of $300.00 USD with s/h (for Mobo combo). I have already got a rough idea of what I want but would like my fellow geeks suggestions, opinions and thoughts. I already know I want to get an AMD 64 though I am debating for range between 2800 - 3200. I do know I have a limitation of having to getting it all bundled with addons (memory, video, audio, etc) not to far behind. Further more I personally do not like on-board anything (video, audio, lan, one failing device at time kthx) due to their annoyance's. I am quite willing to flex on range of the amd 64 but not with memory (would like to be sitting at motherboards max when I am finshed upgrading), my minium being 256Mb at this time. I also know in the future I will need to get a Pci-E (or is that X?) and was hoping to hold onto my existing 4xagp gf3ti200 and my pci audio card for another month or two (they are next on the list). Yeah I know I placed many limits on what I can get but I am willing to flex on some of the stuff and as a a side note the cash limit is my only stop gap (my bank has a security limit of 300 a day).
