I'm building a computer from old parts laying around and I can get it running fine if I use one videocard, but I can't get it to work using another videocard. both cards work fine in other systems, but not with this motherboard.

specs
sempron 2200+
biostar M7VIG 400 (7.x) mobo link
768mb ddr
80gb hd
sb audigy

and the videocards

the one that works
3dprophet ddr/dvi (first gen geforce)

and the one that doesn't
ati aiw 8500dv

both agp

the mobo has onboard video, but I don't think that is a factor, as the first card works fine.

but with the ati (the one that doesn't work) it doesn't have a regular db-15 (or whatever) connector, so I have to use a dvi adaptor to get it to the monitor, I believe that may be a factor, as the card that works doesn't need the adaptor.

the ati card works fine in another system that is using an older motherboard, yet not in the newer mobo.

I've updated the bios on the new mobo, and still no go.

any ideas?

nevermind, figured it out, there were some small dipswitches on the videocard itself that I had to turn off to get it to work
