Just got back about 10 mins ago from my first Tai Chi lesson, went for about an hour and a half, our instructor(Master? ) looks cool bit hard to understand sometimes cause he is soft spoken.
Standing meditation is fun;D.
We went through about 16 moves I think? and we did some push hand stuff, if that's what it's called.
I'm doing it to help out my health of my arms & hands, mainly, but hopefully I'll continue to injoy it.
So, when I got home, I found out off a forum that one of my TO clan-mates has been murdered....I am still in shocked mode, horrible.

 Didn't read it since I thought it was only about the Tai Chi thing which is not really my thing...

It is indeed, I knew him fairly well, he was a good guy & he had a good sense of humour, it's a shame, really sad.
He apparently died trying to protect his girlfriend, who was being threatened.
She is ok now afaik, she was kidnapped by the attackers for a bit though.

Gah! I didn't check this thread at all because I'm not really into the slower martial arts. I feel bad now.

I always thought Tai Chi was more like a Yoga kinda thing as opposed to a martial art (does anyone else keep reading that as marital art)?
sorry to hear about your clanmate preach. Tis a pretty harsh thing to happen and hopefully the shits involved will get buttraped by an angry bear or something equally as bad.

I don't know everything, but......Tai Chi and Yoga are similar as in they have health benefits, and are slow(for the most part) & Yoga is for hippies. 
Tai Chi, 'Chen' style, is the original style, and is more combat like, since then their's been other styles, like Wu, Yang ect, which are less fighting like.
Again, I might be wrong in some things, I'm a noob.

Omg...
That's really f*cked up, Preach. I'm really sorry and hope you'll find support in whatever your beliefs are and the people who also care. Glad to hear his girlfriend's ok in a way. That's eventually what he did it for, if that's any comfort at all...
