Friend gave me an old Framus 12-string(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My friend had this old Framus Texan 5/296 electric acoustic 12-string guitar just sitting collecting dust and getting banged up, so he gave it to me. I wiped it down and tuned it up using the strings that were on it, but I'm not sure how old they are since I broke the high E string in the process while loosening it.
Says 69E inside, so I'm guessing it was made in 1969 (what is E? The month?). Am I reading that right?
Anyways, it's slightly banged up, missing a knob and both controls are slightly loose, but nothing too bad. I'm not sure what the back is supposed to look like, but it's slightly rounded with a couple spots that lump out. I'm assuming that's all normal. The neck and everything seem straight, and when messing with it a little I had pretty much no vibration off the frets. I also plugged it into my amp and, sure enough, the pickup is working. The knobs seem to be a bit shaky though.
Anyways, I'm hoping to get it fixed up a bit. Any idea how much it might be worth? I'm guessing around $250 or something, but I have no idea.

Difficult to tell.. Take it to a local luthier for a quote. When guitars are stored for a long time they become susceptible to moisture/temperature changes which can start to warp the wood and cause any number of problems.
A basic set up (assuming there are no structural issues), a new set of strings and a couple of knobs shouldn't run you more than 80 bux or so.. Take a look at ebay for their resale value and email Framus with the manufacturing codes to find out more about the origins.
Nice guitar.

Thanks. That's what I figured. A 12 string is a nice addition to my collection I wonder what it's gonna sound like with new strings.
