All the ini's will be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAMEHERE\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3 Demo\UTGame\Config (Dunno where for Vista, Sorry )

UTGame.ini changes:

[UTGame.UTPawn]
Bob=0.000 (0.010)
bWeaponBob=False (True)

Note: no weapon bob

[UTGame.UTPlayerController]
bLandingShake=false

[UTGame.UTDeathMessage]
bNoConsoleDeathMessages=False (True)

[UTGame.UTTeamDeathMessage]
bNoConsoleDeathMessages=False(True)

Note: turns on DEATH MESSAGES

UTWeapon.ini changes:

[UTGame.UTWeapon]
CrosshairColor=(R=0,G=255,B=0,A=255)

Note: GREEN Crosshair

Note: if you select simple or hidden you may need to do this for ALL weapons in the INI

UTEngine.ini Changes:

Turn off Anisotropy
UTEngine.ini
[SystemSettings]
MaxAnisotropy=0

note: No difference, thought, I may have it FORCED off already in driver settings.

Some complain about the depth of field in Shangrila. I personally wouldn't change it. On my system it doesn't change FPS, and stuff far away looks pretty crappy without it anyways.
UTEngine.ini
[SystemSettings]
DepthOfField=False (True)

Skip the intro movies
UTEngine.ini Changes:
[FullScreenMovie]
#StartupMovies=Copyright_PC
#StartupMovies=EpicLogo
#StartupMovies=MidwayLogo
#StartupMovies=UE3_logo
#StartupMovies=Nvidia_PC
#StartupMovies=Intel_Duo_Logo
#StartupMovies=UT_loadmovie1
add the # sign.

Currently the UT3demo.exe is BROKEN, renaming the EXE to Bioshock.exe and fixing the shortcut to reflect this made a HUGE difference. (SLI Users)
Alright those changes above are what *I'VE* personally done, there are a few more I'll add now that I didn't need to do, but may need to be listed.

All the ini's will be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAMEHERE\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3 Demo\UTGame\Config (Dunno where for Vista, Sorry )

The game won't run for me without this. If you get blank screens or a kernel32 error set this to true. I don't promise it will work though
UTEngine.ini
[Engine.ISVHacks]
bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True

Use this if the game seems choppy or hitches a lot. May also help if you can't get the game running. I have both this and the above set to true.
UTEngine.ini
[Engine.ISVHacks]
UseMinimalNVIDIADriverShaderOptimization=True.

if you's are getting Studdering:

UTEngine.ini
[Engine.ISVHacks]
UseMinimalNVIDIADriverShaderOptimization=True
bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True

Changing both to true may help, in my own case:
UseMinimalNVIDIADriverShaderOptimization=True <--------this change stopped the studdering

something from the Beyond Unreal Forum:

here's something i found on the Epic forums, and i intend to give it a shot tonight (shouldn't be tough to roll back if it does not work):

Quote:
I've finally figured out a working solution that isn't tedious or anything else.

Start UT3, set the game as you would like it, exit UT3, open the UTEngine.ini file, and look for the [SystemSettings] section, copy everything in that section. Then, open UTDemoCompat.ini, and change all of the "AppCompatBucket" sections to match what you just copied from UTEngine.ini, then save the file and set it to read-only.

And yes before you ask I've tested it out myself and it works fine.
Edit: the theory is that UT3 tries to automatically adjust its settings to your hardware (which it detects) and keeps changing it on you.

all of this STILL applies to the Retail.
