I'm currently halfway through this series. It's (very) loosely based on real-world people who lived in the 18th century. Follow French knight D'Eon and his cohorts across Europe on the trail of his sister's killer. Marvel at the mercury-filled zombies. Wonder at the implications of spiritual trans-sexuality.
It got Anime Insider's Anime of the Year award, but so far I'm giving it an 8/10.
