You act as if they are mutually exclusive. There has been massive massive spending bills that create tonnes of jobs....this is what republicans are so mad about remember all that spending?? It was part of his campaigning and part of his presidency. There is anouther huge omnibus jobs bill going through at the moment. His state of the union speach was totally centered on jobs not healthcare.

So drop the pretences of him just not caring about jobs. One problem of course has been that the republicans have gone in and fucked a lot of it up......forcing the stimulus bills to be tax breaks not job creation spending....preventing energy bills that create green jobs etc etc etc.

Oh please..only 5% of the 735 billion supposedly to be used for infrastructure rebuilding (jobs) got used for that. The republicans didn't cause that. I blame congress as a whole and why I want em all out of there.

Infrastructure is not the only source of jobs. Just about any spending and heck tax cuts too results in jobs with varying effectiveness. Even things as esoteric as bank bailouts lead to jobs by encouraging the lending that allows businesses to invest and grow, hiring in the process.

Incidentally If you want to talk about infrastructure alone as if that is the only source of job creation I discussed, with you I think, why the direct infrasturcture amount of 5% was far s aller than the indirect amount that makes it way to infrastructure. Things like state transfer payments end up being spent a lot on infrastructure a lot of the pork spending in the bill is on infrastructre projects and additionally things like say the money spent on green energy projects fuels a bunch of infrastructure spending itself.

I disagree. Blue collar work is what's needed. Infrastructure expenditures will help in that area. Joe 6-pack needs to go to work. Plant closings in this nation are causing us to implode and depend on foreign labor and products. If this doesn't stop...who are we anymore?

You are the ones trying to survive.. If you want the US to stay as the global number one, it's a lost cause. Sorry.

If things don't get better soon, US will be the one asking for help from Norway.
